Leadership
Dr. Oyedokun is my former pastor. I can attest to his God-led leadership. Along with his very spirit filled preaching, his teaching was of sound doctrine. His compassion for God’s people has no limits. He is a man that is very approachable. I would recommend that anyone who is seeking to find God connect with his church…because he is led by God.
Blessing
Dr. Oyedokun’s Ministry blessed our community and church members through the shared the word of God with conviction, boldness, yet with a spirit of humility. His visionary, transparent and positive leadership brought together all who sought God, young, old, fortunate, less fortunate, believers and non-believers as Christians, to fellowship as One Body in Christ.
My life changed when God led me to worship with Dr. O, he teaches the word of God with clarity and conviction with God truly using him to deliver His word.
Awesome
Moving here from Michigan and visiting several churches Pastor Oyedokun was the first pastor that personally welcomed me to his church (Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church) without becoming a member of the church. Pastor Oyedokun was always there when I was in need of spiritual advice, He prayed with me and for me and my family when my husband was dying of stage 4 cancer. He was there when I just needed someone to talk with. Pastor Oyedokun is truly a man of God who cares about the welfare of the people. He is a wonderful pastor and mentor, He is an awesome teacher of God’s word.
Church
Church, although Dr. Oyedokun II has a doctorate in theology, however, he is not faster than a speeding bullet, or more powerful than a locomotive, or able to leap tall building in a single bound, or turn water into wine. However, Dr.O is, and also live, Jn 21:15-17 (feed my Sheep). Love Community Baptist Church you are very Blessed to have someone that truly fears God, and also, preach and teach God’s Word because a growing church is an active church. Dr.O I want to thank you for your pastoral leadership, and also, for conditioning my heart, soul and mind with God’s Love.
True Man of God
I am Deacon Clifton Jones, currently serving and worshiping at the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Round Rock Texas. I am at Good Hope because of Dr. Michael O. Oyedokun, II. I visited one Sunday and heard him preach. That was it for me. If I had to rate his preaching on a scale of 1—10 I would have to say 10. He preaches the Word.
As a preacher, I rate him as one of the best. I have seen him preach three sermons in one day and each one just a powerful as the first one. He will give the scripture and break it down in such a way that everyone from the oldest to the youngest can understand it. In my opinion Dr. “O” is one of God’s greatest preachers. His preaching is reaching and teaching. I learned something every time I listen to him preach. I like the way he does not speak down to people or at people as though they were less-than. You can see the love of God in every message, his messages are designed to lift up, enlighten, and help one to grow.
As a pastor, Pastor Oyedokun is a real pastor who sincerely cares for people. Whenever there was a family situation such as death, sickness, anniversaries, even birthdays you could expect a call, text, maybe even drop in. He cares about the member and member’s family even if they were not members. You could call him anytime, even late at night, he had time for you. He made you feel like you were important and would help you any way he could.
God Fearing
Pastor Dr. Michael O. Oyedokun II is a God fearing man. He shared with me a message from God as a shepherd for a time that I and my family needed ministering to our hearts. For years, I read my Bible but did not gain the true understanding of what was offered to me until I became under the leadership of Dr. Oyedokun as my pastor. I can attest that if you allow him to be your shepherd on this earth, you will Indeed receive the spiritual nourishment God has ordained. Blessings my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Impact
“The ministry of Pastor O. Has left a lasting impact on my life as a young man. He introduced to me the sobriety of ministry as a preacher and developed my theological understanding of the Word of God. I will always accredit my preaching foundation to him.”
God Fearing
I served as Youth Pastor under Pastor Michael Oyedokun II for several years before I was called to pastor at another church!
My wife and I can both attest to the fact that Pastor O. is a God-fearing, praying, caring, and personable man of God! His teaching is always sound doctrine and biblically based!
Even though our new church was over an hour away he was there for us whenever we needed him! This is the type of Pastor he will be for Love Community Baptist Church!
Trifecta
To God Be The Glory For The Things He Has Done! He Has Done Great Things. We are so excited and happy for the people in and surrounding Forney, TX.
When we united with Good Hope MBC under the leadership of Pastor Michael Oyedokun II, we called him Pastor O., It only took a few visits to know that he genuinely care about the sheep there and people in general. He would visit the sick, take food to those in need. Those who were mourning and there was a lot of that these past few years he would visit. He was a full time pastor and a full time shepherd.
From the first time we visited Good Hope a spirit of praise and worship was awakened in our spirit and in our hearts. A joy down in our hearts that we had longed for since relocating to the Austin, Round Rock area. The ministries overseen by Pastor O. were designed to reach the lost in and around the Round Rock area while yet allowing the heads of those ministry’s to present their ideas with his blessing. He wanted the churched, unchurched, the young, the not so young and above.
It had been our experience that all preachers couldn’t teach and lead and all teachers couldn’t lead and preach. We found in Pastor O. that we hit the trifecta!! Oh boy could he preach! Oh boy could he lead! Oh boy could he teach. Sometimes all at once. We found all that in Pastor O., and oh boy were we blessed.
He would get in the trenches with us. Never left us to go it alone and he is always approachable.
Sister, First Lady Oyedokun, Pastor’s help meet, is such a gentle quiet spirit. That is until she’s called on to speak. She has a word to share. She’s always willing to help and lend a hand when and where needed.
We understand following where God leads you. Got it is said obedience is better than sacrifice. God still has many first for Dr. Michael Oyedokun and with that comes Blessings after Blessings.
To God Be The Glory For The Things He Has Done and Will Do in the Lives of Dr. Michael And Sister Shantell Oyedokun and Family.
Teacher/Preacher
Greetings my fellow Christians. I am Deacon Derricote from Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. I became a Deacon under the tutelage of Pastor Oyedokun II, January 31, 2016.
My wife, Gilda, and I joined Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in 2014 after searching for a new church home. We had moved to Texas from Maryland and were searching for a Bible teaching, Bible preaching church and we found both at Good Hope in Pastor Oyedokun (Pastor O). Pastor O’s preaching style was particularly attractive to me because of his ability to seamlessly deliver a teaching, challenging and aspirational sermon at the same time. Pastor O can do each separately equally as well. He had the uncanny ability to come down my pew step on my toes and scuff my shoes, figuratively of course. He caused me to examine myself and challenged me to work harder at my walk with Jesus. Suffice it to say Pastor O, now Dr. O, is a Biblical scholar with the ability to use scholarly terms without pretense, putting them in to lay terms, helping you to understand Biblical context. Pastor O has an engaging sense of humor which he displays in and out of the pulpit.
Pastor O is not only a teacher/preacher, he also is a person who is concerned about the wellbeing of others. His concern extends from the youngest youth to most senior of saints and the community beyond the walls of the church. Pastor O arranged and went with the high school seniors and juniors on bus tours to several colleges in various States and Washington DC. He mentored and helped one of the youths to become an ordained minister and made him the youth minister. Pastor O’s community outreach was not only evangelism. It also included clothing and school supply drives and Thanksgiving baskets. Pastor O would always take time to listen to and talk with those who wished to do so. Even when he was pressed for time because he was off to a speaking engagement, he would listen then follow up when he had the time to give his full attention to the matter. If you seek his counsel Pastor O is going to give you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. I know from personal experience and yes it was Biblically based and practical. When one of our granddaughters passed away in June of 2021, Gilda and I asked Pastor O on short notice if he could do the service. Without hesitation he said yes. What we thought would be a short service with him was much more. Pastor O rallied the church around us, and we had a full service. We were and are still extremely grateful.
I once said at a pastoral anniversary for Pastor O that the best way to describe him is to think of bacon and eggs breakfast — the hen is involved, but the pig is committed. And just as I said then I am saying now, I am NOT comparing Pastor O to a pig. Note: he still talks to me. I told you Pastor O has a sense of humor. It was just my inarticulate way of saying what the youth would say that Pastor O is ride or die for the Lord. He takes his calling most seriously in all its aspects and charges. The night I went before the Pastoral Board I said to him, “I hope I don’t let you down.” His response speaks volumes about him, his character, and his dedication. He said “If you don’t make it, it’s on me. It was my job to prepare you.” Pastor O is going to reach out to those who are lost and introduce them to a man named Jesus, as well as edify those who are saved.
The Right Place
“Me and my family started going to church in Round Rock, TX where Pastor O was the Pastor. When I 1st went to the church I had no intention of staying at the church. I was only there because my wife said she enjoyed it so much. When this man started to preach the heavens down I knew I was in the right place. From there we built a friendship that blossomed into more than just respect, but I call him my big brother in the gospel. The man is a preacher and a teacher. I have grown in my ministry because of the teaching I received from him. If you’re looking for a church home you need not look any further. You want good old down home preaching, you need not look any further. You want someone that you can just talk to because you have some struggles in your life, you need not look any further. My children enjoyed the service as well. My oldest son actually paid attention in church, we had discussions about the message. This is a family church that I believe anyone can grow in. No matter the race, all are welcome. I pray that you decide to visit this church and the may spirit of God have his way in your life through this ministry”.
Approachable
Dr. Pastor Oyedokun (DPO) is my former pastor who taught and preached the word for all to comprehend. I love he’s approachable, empathetic, has a sense of humor and is familiar with his congregation.
Trustworthy
“Many are called but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:14. Dr. Oyedokun (Pastor O) is the most trustworthy and knowledgeable man of God I know. He is a teacher as well as preacher of the word of God. He truly loves to preach and he loves the Lord. Even though he’s the former pastor of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, he will always be my pastor. As a Deacon of Good Hope, I was proud to serve under the leadership of Dr. Oyedokun. He taught me that serving and being there for the people was the most important thing. As officers of the church, we would operate accordingly to the bible. He always stated,”if it is not in the Bible we are not doing it.” When I was taken to the hospital at 2am for a kidney stone he was there, when my brother in law passed in San Antonio he was there. I have pictures of him holding my Great grand daughter Savanna. For me he’s not just my pastor, my friend, but he’s family. Family have each other’s back and there for each other in good times and the bad times. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Dr. O was not just
Dr. O was not just my Pastor. He was was a great leader and friend. When Pastor O wold preach the word he made it so clear for you to understand. He can break the word down so good for you so can know exactly what the scripture is saying. My mother’s favorite saying was Ain’t He Alright. As soon as O would say that she would jump right up out of her chair. Pastor O is a dynamic preacher. I thank God that me and my family were able to have him has a leader. He had taught me so much. I will forever be so grateful. God Bless You Dr. O.
From a school father to spiritual father!
I meet Pastor O when I was in middle school about 20 years ago. He has always been a father figure to the youth he participated with. Pastor O was there for my family when we lost my young niece and continues to check on us. Pastor O united me and my current husband in marriage and again has been there the entire Journey. His spiritual guidance is in matched as he meets you where you are in life and gently guides to a more spiritual feed life. Pastor O will forever be my Pastor!
Stay The Course
Pastor Dr. Michael O. Oyedokun II my former Shepard. 1992-present
He is truly anointed and gifted in delivering the word of God! I was broken, working overnight and was in the parking lot or another “meeting place” WalMart and I saw a familiar face, from my time in East Texas. We briefly talked and he invited me to church! I thank God for the many “faith-builders” I have experienced since that day, up to this very present moment! I pray God’s faithfulness in your vision continues to grow in your heart and is manifested in such a way, the kingdom work you and the Love Community Family will be a blessing in their lives as you have been in mine. I have always told you, “Stay The Course”. Nothing has changed, Stay the Course Pastor O!
Be Blessed in all you all do! Sis. Sonya Lathon
The Eviction Notice
From my journal, June 08, 2017
Dr. Michael Oloyede Oyedokun II, a Pastor who truly has a “Heart Like Jesus”. I recall it like it was yesterday, my first time hearing Pastor O, speak, February 14, 2016, during 8am Service. He said 4-word’s: “There Is A Word”. From that moment on, I have been blessed with his teaching, preaching and spiritual guidance.
I can recall many occasions how Pastor O’s teaching has helped me in my spiritual growth while on my spiritual journey. One in particular was the day I walked up to my door and found an Eviction Notice. I know for a fact, God is this man’s guide! As I walked up to the door and started to read the note, my phone started to ring, I looked at the phone and it was Pastor O.
He said, “God told me to check up on you”. I was floored, thankful and grateful for him following the Holy Spirit.
At the very moment, he assured me; God will provide, not to worry and to remember what we talked about in 12 Noon Bible Study, when we experience God, we have to allow his will to be done, trust in him and remain FAITHFUL in my obedience. Yes, I was still in tears, but a calming came over me and I know it was God! Then, he told me; Read JOB! LOL, did he open up the Gates of Heaven and pour out a blessing on me!
I’m still in my storm, yet I know for a fact, it will be alright- Whatever “IT” is!!! The world may see it different, the world really doesn’t understand my PRAISE, but God knows and I know! Aint’ He Alright? Yes! Yes! Yes! There is Victory in my Praise!
Thank you Pastor O for being a man of God, a loving-kind Pastor and my brother in Christ.
Awesome leader
Dr. Oyedokun is an awesome pastor. I had the pleasure of serving with him in Round Rock Texas. He is knowledgeable and spirit led speaker. He does great work with children and he’s a family man. God has wonderful journey for this church family. Dr. Oyedokun is an amazing addition to the Forney community and outlying areas. If I live close enough I would be in services every Sunday.
